When this route is the right one

Your dollars are in a Solana wallet as USDC — the dominant stablecoin there — and the place you have to pay runs on BNB Smart Chain and asks for USDT. A game, an exchange with a BEP-20 deposit page, a merchant whose checkout shows an 0x… address with BSC next to it.

Solana and BNB Smart Chain are built differently and share nothing: address formats, fee tokens, token standards. On Solana your USDC sits in a token account tied to your wallet; on BNB Smart Chain the USDT is a BEP-20 balance in a contract. The route receives the Solana deposit, confirms it, and pays USDT on BNB Smart Chain to the address you gave.

What happens, in order

  1. Enter the USDC amount and the BNB Smart Chain address

Paste the 0x… address that should receive USDT (BEP-20). The estimate is in USDT.

  2. Send USDC on Solana

You get a one-time Solana deposit address. Send USDC — the token your wallet lists as USDC, mint EPjF…Dt1v — from any Solana wallet; the fee is paid in SOL.

  3. Solana confirms

Finality comes in seconds; the whole swap takes about 2–5 minutes. The USDT amount is fixed when the deposit is final.

  4. USDT is paid out on BNB Smart Chain

The status page links your Solscan deposit and the BscScan payout.

Before you send — checklist

  • The receiving address is a BNB Smart Chain address: 0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters, and the receiver expects BEP-20.
  • If the address belongs to an exchange, its deposit page says USDT on BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), not Ethereum (ERC-20) — the address string is the same for both.
  • The Solana wallet holds a little SOL for the transfer fee.
  • You are sending USDC issued by Circle on Solana, not a wrapped USDC from a bridge, which some wallets list under a similar name.
  • You saved the status link.

The two mistakes that cost money on this route

Sending to the wallet address instead of letting the wallet handle the token account

On Solana a token lives in a token account, not in the wallet address itself. Your wallet handles this: paste the deposit address shown on this page into the wallet's send form for USDC, and the wallet creates or finds the token account. Do not look for a separate 'USDC address' — the deposit address is the one to use.

A BEP-20 address meant for ERC-20

Because Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain share the 0x… format, an exchange deposit address copied from the ERC-20 page is a valid BNB Smart Chain address — and a deposit to it on BNB Smart Chain is not what that exchange expects. Read the network name on the deposit page before you paste.

What is visible on-chain

Solscan shows a USDC token transfer from your wallet's token account to the deposit address, with the amount and the SOL fee. BscScan shows a BEP-20 transfer of USDT from a payout address to your 0x… address. Both are public; neither chain knows about the other.

FAQ

How long does it take?

About 2–5 minutes. Solana reaches finality in seconds; BNB Smart Chain confirms the payout in a few more. The rest is processing.

Which USDC does this route accept?

Circle's native USDC on Solana, mint EPjFWdd5AufqSSqeM2qN1xzybapC8G4wEGGkZwyTDt1v (checked with Circle on 12 October 2026). Bridged tokens with USDC in their name are different assets.

Is the USDT I receive issued by Tether?

On BNB Smart Chain, USDT is Binance-Peg USDT, issued by Binance and backed one to one. Wallets and exchanges list it simply as USDT.

Do I need BNB to receive?

No. You need BNB in that wallet to move the USDT on later.

What is the minimum?

It is shown under the amount field and follows the fees on both networks.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.
