When this route is the right one

Your USDC is on Base — withdrawn there from Coinbase, earned in an app, left after an on-chain purchase — and you have to pay someone who takes USDT on TRON. The two networks are at opposite ends of the market: Base is a second-layer network built by Coinbase that settles to Ethereum; TRON is where most USDT changes hands.

There is no direct path. A Base transaction credits a 0x… address on Base and nowhere else. The route receives your USDC on Base, waits for two confirmations and pays USDT on TRON to the T… address you gave. The whole thing usually takes 2–5 minutes.

What happens, in order

  1. Enter the USDC amount and the TRON address

Paste the TRON address — 34 characters, starting with T — that will receive the USDT. The estimate is in USDT.

  2. Send USDC on Base

You get a one-time 0x… deposit address on Base. Send from a wallet switched to the Base network; the fee is paid in ETH on Base.

  3. Base confirms

2 confirmations — a few seconds. The USDT amount is fixed then.

  4. USDT is paid out on TRON

The status page links your deposit on Basescan and the payout on Tronscan.

Before you send — checklist

  • The receiving address starts with T and is 34 characters long — a TRON address.
  • If it belongs to an exchange, the deposit page is for USDT on TRON (TRC-20).
  • The wallet you send from is switched to Base and holds a little ETH on Base — not ETH on Ethereum — for the fee.
  • You are sending native USDC on Base, contract 0x8335…2913 (Circle's list, checked on 12 October 2026). A bridged token with USDC in its name is not the same deposit.
  • You saved the status link.

The two mistakes that cost money on this route

Sending from Ethereum to a Base deposit address

The deposit address is a 0x… string, and your wallet will happily send to it on Ethereum. That transfer lands on Ethereum at the deposit address, where this swap is not looking. Before you confirm, check that the network shown in the wallet is Base and that the fee is quoted in ETH on Base.

Withdrawing from Coinbase on the wrong network

Coinbase and other exchanges offer USDC withdrawals on several networks. Choose Base for this route. A withdrawal on Ethereum, Polygon or Solana to the same address string is a different ledger and the deposit will not be found here.

Other ways to make the same move

WayWhat you needWhere it is slower or dearer
An exchange accountAn account; a USDC deposit on Base, a trade into USDT, a TRC-20 withdrawalSign-up, a trading fee, a withdrawal fee, two waits
A bridge from Base, then another stepA wallet on Base and on the destination chain, ETH on Base for gasA bridge fee and at least two transactions; few bridges reach TRON directly, so the token change is a third step

What is visible on-chain

Basescan shows a USDC transfer from your wallet to the deposit address, with the amount and the small fee in ETH. On Tronscan a payout address is seen transferring USDT to your T… address, with the amount. Both are public and permanent; the two chains do not reference each other.

FAQ

How long does it take?

About 2–5 minutes. Base confirms the deposit in seconds and TRON confirms the payout in seconds; the rest is processing.

Which USDC does this route take?

Native USDC on Base, issued by Circle, contract 0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913 (checked on 12 October 2026).

Why do I pay the fee in ETH if I am on Base?

Base uses ETH as its fee token, held on Base itself. ETH in your Ethereum balance does not pay Base fees; the wallet shows the Base balance when switched to that network.

Why is the USDT amount not exactly the USDC amount?

USDC and USDT trade against each other at a floating price near parity, and the estimate includes the TRON payout fee.

Do I need TRX to receive?

No. You need TRX or energy only to send the USDT on from the receiving wallet.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.
