When this route is the right one

You received USDT as BEP-20 — from an exchange withdrawal, a game, a payment — and the person or service you need to pay only takes it on TRON. Or you want to hold USDT on the network where you are most likely to spend it next, and that network is TRON.

The two networks do not talk to each other. A BNB Smart Chain transaction can only credit a 0x… address on that chain; a T… address does not exist there. The token has to be received on BNB Smart Chain and paid out on TRON as a separate transfer. Here you send once, from your 0x… wallet, and the TRON transfer is made for you.

You are sending a pegged token and receiving the issuer's token. USDT on BNB Smart Chain is Binance-Peg USDT: Binance issues it against USDT it holds, and Tether's own list of supported protocols does not carry a USDT contract on BNB Smart Chain. USDT on TRON is issued by Tether directly. Both are listed as USDT and trade at the same price (contracts checked on 12 October 2026).

What happens, in order

  1. Enter the amount and the TRON address

Paste the T… address that should receive USDT. The TRC-20 estimate and the current minimum appear under the amount.

  2. Send USDT on BNB Smart Chain

You get a one-time 0x… deposit address for this swap. Send from any wallet connected to BNB Smart Chain; the wallet pays the fee in BNB.

  3. BNB Smart Chain confirms

We wait for 10 confirmations — about 2–5 minutes. The USDT amount for TRON is fixed then.

  4. USDT is paid out on TRON

The status page links your deposit on BscScan and the payout on Tronscan.

Before you send — checklist

  • The address you paste is on TRON — 34 characters, first letter T.
  • If it belongs to an exchange, the deposit page is open for USDT on TRON (TRC-20), not for TRX, and not for USDT on another network.
  • The sending wallet is connected to BNB Smart Chain and holds a little BNB for the transfer fee.
  • The receiving wallet has, or will get, some TRX or energy before you move the USDT on.
  • You saved the status link before you sent.

The two mistakes that cost money on this route

Withdrawing from an exchange on another 0x network

Exchanges sell the same 0x… deposit address for Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Arbitrum and more. The deposit address here lives on BNB Smart Chain. If you pick BEP-20 on the exchange page it arrives; if you pick ERC-20 or Polygon it lands on another ledger and is not seen by this swap.

Pasting a TRX deposit address meant for the coin

On TRON, USDT and TRX share one address format. An exchange shows you the same T… address for both, but credits it according to the page you opened. If the page was for TRX, a USDT payout may sit uncredited until support there sorts it out. Copy the address from the USDT (TRC-20) deposit page.

What is visible on-chain

BscScan shows a BEP-20 transfer from your 0x… address to the deposit address, with the amount and the BNB fee. Tronscan shows a TRC-20 transfer from a payout address to your T… address. Both are public and permanent. Neither chain records that the two transfers belong together.

FAQ

Is USDT BEP-20 the same as USDT TRC-20?

Same name and price, different issuer. On BNB Smart Chain it is Binance-Peg USDT, backed one to one by Binance. On TRON it is Tether's own token. This route takes the first and pays the second.

How long does it take?

About 2–5 minutes: 10 confirmations on BNB Smart Chain, then a TRON payout that confirms in seconds.

Do I need BNB?

Yes, in the wallet you send from. A BEP-20 transfer is a BNB Smart Chain transaction and the fee is paid in BNB. The amount is small but not zero.

Do I need TRX to receive?

No. The payout is a transfer into your address and the sender pays. You need TRX or energy only to move the USDT on later.

Where is the minimum?

Under the amount field. It follows the fees on both networks at the moment you look.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.
