When this route is the right one

You hold bitcoin and need dollars that move instantly and cheaply: an invoice in USDT, a counterparty who wants a T… address, or a pause out of the price while you decide what next. USDT on TRON is the most widely accepted form of USDT, and TRON fees are small, which is why this is the default route for cashing part of a bitcoin position into a stable balance.

A Bitcoin wallet cannot pay a T… address, and no TRON contract can see a bitcoin payment. The route receives your BTC at a one-time address, waits for 2 confirmations — plan for 21–44 minutes — and then transfers USDT on TRON to the address you gave. Most of the wait is Bitcoin block time, and the USDT amount is fixed only when the second confirmation arrives.

What happens, in order

  1. Enter the BTC amount and your TRON address

Paste your TRON address, the 34-character string starting with T, where the USDT should land. The estimate is in USDT and follows the BTC price.

  2. Send bitcoin to the deposit address

You get a one-time Bitcoin address. Send the exact amount in one transaction, with a fee your wallet expects to confirm within the next few blocks.

  3. Bitcoin confirms

2 confirmations. Blocks average ten minutes but vary; plan for 21–44 minutes. The USDT amount is fixed at the second confirmation.

  4. USDT is paid out on TRON

The status page links your deposit on the Bitcoin explorer and the Tronscan transaction that credits your T… address. TRON confirms it in seconds.

Before you send — checklist

  • You are paying out to a TRON address: it starts with T and has 34 characters.
  • If it belongs to an exchange, the deposit page says USDT on TRON (TRC-20). The same T… address there also serves TRX deposits; open the USDT page.
  • The Bitcoin fee is set to confirm soon. A low-fee transaction still counts when it confirms, but the rate is fixed only then.
  • You send one transaction for the full amount. Two payments to the same deposit address are not combined into one deposit.
  • You saved the status link.

The two mistakes that cost money on this route

Choosing a low fee to save a little

A transaction that waits hours for a block is a swap whose rate is set hours later than you planned. In a moving market the USDT figure can end up noticeably different from the estimate. Pay a fee that confirms in the next block or two; if the wallet can raise the fee of a stuck transaction, use that rather than sending again.

Reading the estimate as a quote

The USDT figure on the form is what the market offers at that second. Between your send and the second Bitcoin confirmation, 21–44 minutes pass. If BTC moves 1 % in that time, so does the payout. This is what a floating rate means; the status page shows the final figure the moment it is fixed.

What is visible on-chain

Your bitcoin transaction is public and permanent: the explorer shows the inputs you spent, the deposit address, the amount and the fee. Tronscan shows a USDT transfer from a payout address to your T… address with the amount and the time. The two records sit on unrelated chains; only the status page, which you hold, pairs them.

FAQ

How long does it take?

About 21–44 minutes: 2 Bitcoin confirmations plus processing. A slow block or a congested mempool can stretch it. The TRON payout itself takes seconds.

Why 2 confirmations and not 1?

A single block can still be replaced by a competing one. Two make a reversal impractical for the amounts a swap handles, and USDT once sent cannot be taken back.

Which Bitcoin address types can I send from?

Any — legacy 1…, P2SH 3…, SegWit bc1q… or Taproot bc1p…. The deposit address is chosen by us; your wallet only has to be able to send to it.

Do I need TRX to receive the USDT?

No. Receiving a TRC-20 transfer costs nothing. You need TRX or energy to move the USDT on.

What is the minimum?

It is shown under the amount field and follows the Bitcoin fee market: on a congested day it is higher.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.
