When this route is the right one

You hold ETH and want Monero — to settle something priced in XMR, or to move part of a balance off a chain where every transfer, token and contract call under your address is readable by anyone.

Ethereum has no way to pay a Monero address. The ETH is received at a one-time deposit address here, Ethereum confirms it 15 times — about 4–10 minutes — and then XMR is sent to the address you gave. The Ethereum side is fast; the only slow part is the 10-block lock on the Monero side before the XMR can be spent again.

What happens, in order

  1. Enter the ETH amount and your Monero address

Paste the 95-character address (4… or 8…) from your Monero wallet. The estimate is in XMR.

  2. Send ETH to the deposit address

You get a one-time 0x… address. Send a plain ETH transfer from any wallet — ETH itself on Ethereum mainnet, not WETH, not ETH on a rollup.

  3. Ethereum confirms

15 confirmations, about 4–10 minutes. The XMR amount is fixed at that point.

  4. XMR is paid out

The status page shows your Etherscan hash and the Monero payout hash. Sync the Monero wallet to see the balance.

Before you send — checklist

  • The Monero address is 95 characters, starting with 4 or 8, and belongs to a wallet whose seed you hold.
  • You are sending ETH on Ethereum mainnet. The same 0x… deposit address is reachable from Base, Arbitrum and other networks, and ETH sent there does not arrive here.
  • The amount you send is ETH, not WETH or any token. A token transfer to the deposit address is not a deposit.
  • You leave a little ETH behind for the transaction's own gas; the wallet cannot send the full balance.
  • You saved the status link.

The two mistakes that cost money on this route

Sending ETH from an L2 to the mainnet deposit address

A wallet connected to Base or Arbitrum will happily send to the 0x… address shown here, and the transaction will succeed — on that network. The deposit address is watched on Ethereum mainnet only. Check the network selector in the wallet before you confirm.

Sending the whole balance

The transaction itself needs gas, paid in ETH from the same wallet. Wallets that let you type 'max' usually subtract it; those that do not will fail the transaction, or, worse, send less than the amount the swap expects.

What is visible on-chain

Etherscan records your deposit completely: the sending address, the one-time deposit address, the amount, the gas and the time. The XMR payout appears on the Monero explorer as a hash in a block, and that is all — no amount, no address. Someone who looks at your Ethereum address will see ETH leaving to an address they cannot connect to anything; someone who looks at the Monero chain will see nothing that points back.

FAQ

How long does it take?

About 4–10 minutes for 15 Ethereum confirmations, then the Monero payout, which lands in a block within about two minutes.

When can I spend the XMR?

10 blocks after the payout is mined, about 20 minutes. The wallet shows the amount as balance at once and as unlocked balance after the lock expires.

Can I send ETH from an exchange?

Yes. Withdraw ETH on the Ethereum network (sometimes labelled ERC-20 or mainnet) to the deposit address. Exchanges deduct their withdrawal fee, so withdraw slightly more than the amount on this page.

Does the Monero address need a payment ID?

No. A primary address or a subaddress is enough. Integrated addresses with a payment ID are not needed for a personal wallet.

What is the minimum?

It is under the amount field and follows Ethereum gas and the Monero fee at that moment.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.
