# Swap XMR to USDT BEP-20

Swap Monero for USDT on BNB Smart Chain without an account: enter the amount, paste a 0x… address and send XMR from any Monero wallet.

- **Arrival:** ≈ 11–24 min

- **Confirmations:** 5 on Monero

- **Rate:** Floating

- **Fee token after arrival:** BNB

## When this route is the right one

You hold XMR and the dollars are needed on BNB Smart Chain — an app that runs there, a deposit page that says BEP-20, a wallet switched to that network. BNB Smart Chain is one of the cheaper places to hold and move USDT, which makes this route a common way to park a Monero position for a while.

A Monero wallet sends only to Monero addresses, and a BNB Smart Chain wallet reads nothing from the Monero chain. The XMR is received here and confirmed on Monero — 5 confirmations at the 2-minute block target, about 11–24 minutes — then USDT is transferred on BNB Smart Chain to the 0x… address you gave. The USDT there is Binance-Peg USDT, issued by Binance and backed one to one; wallets list it as USDT (BEP-20).

## XMR vs USDT BEP-20 — side by side

| | XMR on Monero | USDT on BNB Smart Chain BEP-20 |
|---|---|---|
| Address format | 4… or 8… (95 characters) | 0x… (42 characters) |
| Fee token | XMR | BNB |
| Confirmations we wait for | 5 | 10 |
| Explorer | monerohash.com | bscscan.com |

## What happens, in order

1. Enter the XMR amount and your BNB Smart Chain address Paste the 0x… address that should receive USDT. The estimate is in USDT and the current minimum is under the amount field.
2. Send XMR to the deposit address You get a one-time Monero address (4…) with a QR code. Send from any Monero wallet; no payment ID is needed, and the wallet adds its own XMR fee.
3. Monero confirms 5 confirmations, about 11–24 minutes. The USDT amount is fixed when the fifth block lands.
4. USDT is paid out on BNB Smart Chain The status page links the BscScan transaction that transfers USDT to your 0x… address.

## Before you send — checklist

- The receiving address is a 0x… address that you will open on BNB Smart Chain. The same string on Ethereum does not show this payout.
- If the address belongs to an exchange, its USDT deposit page says BEP-20 or BNB Smart Chain — not ERC-20.
- The XMR is unlocked. Outputs received within the last 10 blocks cannot be spent yet, and the wallet refuses to build the transaction until they are.
- There is, or will be, a little BNB in the receiving wallet. Receiving USDT costs you nothing; sending it on costs BNB.
- You saved the status link before you sent. It is the only place the swap is tracked.

## The two mistakes that cost money on this route

### Treating the estimate as the payout

Between pressing send and the fifth Monero confirmation, 11–24 minutes pass, and the rate floats for all of them. The USDT figure on the status page is the one set at the fifth block, not the one you saw on the form. Decide the amount with that window in mind.

### An exchange address opened for the wrong network

Ethereum and BNB Smart Chain share the 0x… format, and an exchange shows the same deposit address for both. Only the network selected on that page decides what gets credited. If it was opened for ERC-20, a BEP-20 payout may not be credited, and getting it back depends on the exchange.

## Other ways to make the same move

| Way | What you need | Where it is slower or dearer |
|---|---|---|
| An exchange that still lists XMR | An account, a Monero deposit with the exchange's own confirmation count, a sale, a BEP-20 withdrawal | The longest route in minutes, a withdrawal fee, and the right network chosen on the way out |
| A peer-to-peer trade | Someone who wants XMR and holds USDT on BNB Smart Chain, plus escrow or trust | A negotiated price and the counterparty's schedule |
| This swap | Two addresses | A floating rate fixed at the fifth Monero confirmation |

## What is visible on-chain

On the Monero side the explorer linked from the status page confirms that a transaction with the deposit hash was mined and in which block; the amount, the sender and the destination are not readable. The BNB Smart Chain side is open: BscScan shows a payout address transferring USDT to your 0x… address, with the amount, the block and the time, and anyone with the hash or the address can read it.

## FAQ

How long does it take?

About 11–24 minutes for the 5 Monero confirmations; the BNB Smart Chain payout confirms within seconds after that. The form's estimate already includes processing time.

What is the minimum?

The form shows it under the amount field. It moves with the Monero network fee, the BNB Smart Chain fee of the payout and the XMR price.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.

Is USDT on BNB Smart Chain issued by Tether?

No. The token wallets list as USDT (BEP-20) is Binance-Peg USDT, issued by Binance and backed one to one with USDT. Tether's own list of supported protocols, checked on 12 October 2026, gives a BNB Smart Chain contract only for its gold token, not for USDT.

Do I need BNB to receive?

No. The payout is a transfer into your address and the sender pays the gas. You need BNB only when you move the USDT on.

Does the deposit need a payment ID?

No. The deposit address is created for this swap alone. Leave the payment ID field in your wallet empty.
