# Swap USDT TRC-20 to XMR

Turn USDT on TRON into Monero without an account: enter the amount, paste your 4… or 8… address and send USDT TRC-20 from any wallet.

- **Arrival:** ≈ 2–5 min

- **Confirmations:** 1 on TRON

- **Rate:** Floating

- **Fee token after arrival:** XMR

## When this route is the right one

Your USDT sits on TRON — the network most payouts, freelancer invoices and exchange withdrawals use — and you want to hold XMR or pay someone who asks for it. Because TRON confirms in seconds, this is the fastest way into Monero from a stablecoin.

A TRON wallet cannot send to a Monero address. The USDT is received at a one-time T… address, TRON confirms it once — about 2–5 minutes including processing — and XMR is sent to you. Most of the elapsed time is on the Monero side: the payout block and then the 10-block lock before the XMR can be spent.

## USDT TRC-20 vs XMR — side by side

| | USDT on TRON TRC-20 | XMR on Monero |
|---|---|---|
| Address format | T… (34 characters) | 4… or 8… (95 characters) |
| Fee token | TRX (or rented energy) | XMR |
| Confirmations we wait for | 1 | 5 |
| Explorer | tronscan.org | monerohash.com |

## What happens, in order

1. Enter the USDT amount and your Monero address Paste the 95-character address (4… or 8…) from your Monero wallet. The estimate is in XMR.
2. Send USDT TRC-20 to the deposit address You get a one-time T… address. Send USDT — not TRX — from any TRON wallet; the wallet spends TRX or energy for the transfer.
3. TRON confirms 1 confirmation, usually within a minute. The XMR amount is fixed then.
4. XMR is paid out The status page shows the Tronscan hash of your deposit and the Monero payout hash. Your wallet shows the XMR after it scans the block.

## Before you send — checklist

- The Monero address is 95 characters and starts with 4 or 8. A wallet that shows a shorter address is not showing a Monero address.
- The TRON wallet has enough TRX or energy for one TRC-20 transfer. The USDT balance itself does not pay the fee.
- The deposit is USDT on TRON. The same T… address can receive TRX; TRX sent to it is not a deposit for this swap.
- You expect the 10-block lock: the XMR appears in the wallet at once but can be spent about 20 minutes later.
- You saved the status link.

## The two mistakes that cost money on this route

### Sending TRX instead of USDT

Both live at the same kind of address, and a wallet with a TRX balance and a USDT balance offers both. The deposit address is for USDT. A TRX transfer to it does not start the swap, and recovering it means contacting support with the hash.

### A wallet with USDT but no TRX

This is the most common reason a TRC-20 deposit never goes out: the wallet shows the USDT, the send button is there, and the transaction fails for lack of TRX or energy. Put a small amount of TRX in the wallet first, or rent energy, then send.

## Other ways to make the same move

| Way | What you need | Where it is slower or dearer |
|---|---|---|
| An exchange that lists XMR | An account, a TRC-20 deposit, a trade, a Monero withdrawal | Two waits, a withdrawal fee, and a trade on the exchange's books |
| A peer-to-peer trade | A counterparty who sells XMR for USDT TRC-20, escrow or trust | Negotiated price; time; the counterparty learns your TRON address |
| This swap | Two addresses | A floating rate fixed at the TRON confirmation |

## What is visible on-chain

Tronscan shows your TRC-20 transfer in full: your T… address, the deposit address, the amount and the fee or energy used. The Monero payout is a hash on the Monero explorer with a block height and a time; it does not show the amount or the address it paid. The USDT transaction will stay readable under your TRON address; the Monero side will not reveal where the value went.

## FAQ

How long does it take?

About 2–5 minutes until the XMR is sent, then roughly two minutes for the Monero block that includes it.

When can I spend the XMR?

After 10 Monero blocks, about 20 minutes from the payout. Until then the wallet shows it as locked balance.

What does the TRON transfer cost me?

Bandwidth and energy, taken from what the wallet has staked, or TRX burned at TRON's current rates if it has none. The wallet shows the fee before you sign; it is separate from the swap.

Does the Monero address need a payment ID?

No. Paste a primary address or a subaddress from your wallet; nothing else is required.

What is the minimum?

It is shown under the amount field and follows the Monero network fee more than the TRON side.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.
