# Swap USDT TRC-20 to USDC ERC-20

Swap USDT on TRON for USDC on Ethereum without an account: enter the amount, paste your 0x… address and send USDT from any TRON wallet.

- **Arrival:** ≈ 2–5 min

- **Confirmations:** 1 on TRON

- **Rate:** Floating

- **Fee token after arrival:** ETH

## When this route is the right one

You hold USDT on TRON and need USDC on Ethereum: a platform that settles only in USDC, a treasury or payroll tool that expects Circle's token, a protocol whose pools are USDC-denominated. Or you prefer to hold the dollar token whose issuer publishes monthly reserve attestations and is regulated in the United States.

A TRC-20 transfer cannot land on Ethereum, and USDT cannot become USDC inside a wallet. The route takes your USDT on TRON, waits for one confirmation, and sends USDC on Ethereum to the address you gave. The Ethereum payout pays gas, and that cost is part of the estimate.

## USDT TRC-20 vs USDC ERC-20 — side by side

| | USDT on TRON TRC-20 | USDC on Ethereum ERC-20 |
|---|---|---|
| Address format | T… (34 characters) | 0x… (42 characters) |
| Fee token | TRX (or rented energy) | ETH |
| Confirmations we wait for | 1 | 15 |
| Explorer | tronscan.org | etherscan.io |

## What happens, in order

1. Enter the USDT amount and the Ethereum address Paste the 42-character 0x… address that should receive USDC. The estimate is in USDC.
2. Send USDT on TRON A one-time TRON deposit address (T…) appears. Send from any TRON wallet; the wallet pays energy or TRX.
3. TRON confirms 1 confirmation — about 2–5 minutes for the whole swap. The USDC amount is fixed at that moment.
4. USDC is paid out on Ethereum The status page links your Tronscan deposit and the Etherscan payout. Your wallet lists the token as USDC.

## Before you send — checklist

- The receiving address is an Ethereum address: 0x followed by 40 hexadecimal characters.
- If it belongs to an exchange, the deposit page says USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20). The same 0x… address is often shown for USDC on Base, Polygon or Arbitrum as well — different ledgers.
- There is energy or TRX in the sending wallet to cover one USDT transfer.
- Some ETH is, or will be, in the receiving wallet. The USDC arrives without it but cannot be moved without it.
- You saved the status link.

## The two mistakes that cost money on this route

### Giving an address on an Ethereum rollup

Wallets show one 0x… address for Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum, Optimism and Polygon. The payout here is on Ethereum itself. If you expect the USDC on Base and give the same address, the tokens will be on Ethereum at that address — recoverable, since you hold the key, but not where you wanted them and only movable with ETH for gas.

### Adding the token by the wrong contract

If the wallet does not display the USDC balance, add the token by Circle's contract, 0xA0b86991c6218b36c1d19D4a2e9Eb0cE3606eB48 (checked on 12 October 2026). Several tokens named USDC exist on Ethereum; only this one is the native USDC that this route pays out.

## Other ways to make the same move

| Way | What you need | Where it is slower or dearer |
|---|---|---|
| An exchange account | An account; a TRC-20 deposit, a trade into USDC, an ERC-20 withdrawal | A trading fee, a withdrawal fee that tracks Ethereum gas, two waits |
| A bridge to Ethereum, then a DEX | A wallet on both chains, TRX for the deposit and ETH for the claim and the swap | A bridge fee plus two gas payments; the token change is a separate step |
| This swap | Two addresses | A floating rate fixed at the TRON confirmation; Ethereum gas is inside the estimate |

## What is visible on-chain

Tronscan shows your USDT transfer to the deposit address with the amount and the resources used. Etherscan shows a USDC transfer from a payout address to your 0x… address, with the amount and the gas paid by the sender. Both records are public and permanent; the pairing exists only on your status page.

## FAQ

Why do I receive less USDC than the USDT I send?

The payout is an Ethereum transaction that pays gas, and USDT and USDC trade against each other at a price that floats a little around parity. The estimate accounts for both.

How long does it take?

About 2–5 minutes. TRON confirms the deposit in seconds; the Ethereum payout is mined within a block or two after that.

Is the USDC native or bridged?

Native USDC issued by Circle on Ethereum. The contract is on Circle's own list of USDC addresses (checked on 12 October 2026).

Why is the minimum higher than on a TRON-to-TRON route?

The Ethereum payout must cover gas. Look under the amount field for the current minimum; it tracks the gas price.

Can the USDT come from an exchange?

Yes. Withdraw on the TRON (TRC-20) network to the deposit address and allow for the exchange's withdrawal fee.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.
