# Swap USDT TRC-20 to BTC

Swap USDT on TRON for Bitcoin without an account: enter the amount, paste your Bitcoin address and send USDT from any TRON wallet.

- **Arrival:** ≈ 2–5 min

- **Confirmations:** 1 on TRON

- **Rate:** Floating

- **Fee token after arrival:** BTC

## When this route is the right one

You hold dollars as USDT on TRON and want bitcoin: to pay a merchant or a person who quotes in BTC, to move savings out of a token and into a coin with no issuer, or to fill a hardware wallet that only knows Bitcoin. This is the most common way people buy their first bitcoin without opening an account anywhere.

USDT on TRON and bitcoin live on networks with nothing in common — different addresses, a block every three seconds against one every ten minutes, a token contract against a native coin. The route receives your TRC-20 deposit, confirms it once, and sends bitcoin to the address you gave. You are done on your side in under a minute; the bitcoin then confirms on its own schedule.

## USDT TRC-20 vs BTC — side by side

| | USDT on TRON TRC-20 | BTC on Bitcoin |
|---|---|---|
| Address format | T… (34 characters) | 1…, 3…, bc1… |
| Fee token | TRX (or rented energy) | BTC |
| Confirmations we wait for | 1 | 2 |
| Explorer | tronscan.org | blockchain.com |

## What happens, in order

1. Enter the USDT amount and your Bitcoin address Paste an address your Bitcoin wallet shows for receiving: 1…, 3…, bc1q… or bc1p…. The estimate is in BTC and moves with the market.
2. Send USDT on TRON You are given a T… address that exists for this swap only. Send the USDT from whichever TRON wallet holds it; the fee is energy or TRX.
3. TRON confirms 1 confirmation — the BTC amount is fixed then, within about 2–5 minutes of sending.
4. Bitcoin is paid out The status page links your Tronscan deposit and the Bitcoin transaction. Your wallet shows it unconfirmed first, then with 1 confirmation after the next block.

## Before you send — checklist

- The receiving address is a Bitcoin mainnet address: 1…, 3…, bc1q… or bc1p…. If it is bc1p (Taproot), your wallet is recent enough to spend from it.
- If the address belongs to an exchange, its deposit page says Bitcoin — the BTC network — not a wrapped BTC on BNB Smart Chain or Ethereum.
- Your TRON wallet can pay for the transfer — in energy or in TRX.
- You used a fresh receiving address if you do not want this payout linked to other bitcoin you hold. Bitcoin addresses can be reused, but every reuse joins the records.
- You saved the status link.

## The two mistakes that cost money on this route

### Judging the swap by the Bitcoin confirmation

Your part is finished when TRON confirms, in seconds. The bitcoin is sent shortly after, but your wallet shows it with 0 confirmations until the next Bitcoin block — ten minutes on average, sometimes much longer. The payout is not late; Bitcoin is slow. The hash on the status page is proof the transaction exists.

### A BTC deposit address that is not on the Bitcoin network

Exchanges list BTC on more than one network, and some wallets show a 'BTC' balance that is a token on another chain. The payout here is a Bitcoin transaction. An 0x… address will be rejected by the form; a wrong network choice on an exchange page may not be. Check the page, not just the address.

## Other ways to make the same move

| Way | What you need | Where it is slower or dearer |
|---|---|---|
| An exchange account | An account; a TRC-20 deposit, a market buy, a BTC withdrawal | Sign-up, a trading fee, a withdrawal fee in BTC, two waits |
| A peer-to-peer trade | A counterparty holding BTC, escrow or trust, time to agree a price | The counterparty's price and schedule; your TRON address shown to a stranger |
| This swap | Two addresses | A floating rate fixed at the TRON confirmation |

## What is visible on-chain

Tronscan shows your USDT transfer to the deposit address with the amount and the energy or TRX used. The Bitcoin explorer shows a transaction paying your address, with the amount, the fee and the inputs it spent — permanently, for anyone who knows the address. Nothing on the Bitcoin chain says where the bitcoin came from; nothing on TRON says where the USDT went.

## FAQ

How long does it take?

About 2–5 minutes until the bitcoin is sent — TRON needs one confirmation. Then one Bitcoin block, ten minutes on average, until your wallet shows it as confirmed.

Which Bitcoin address type should I give?

Whatever your wallet offers for receiving. bc1q… (native SegWit) is the common choice; 1… and 3… work; bc1p… (Taproot) works if your wallet supports it.

Is the BTC amount final when I send?

It is final when TRON confirms the deposit, which happens within seconds of your sending. The estimate you see before that floats with the market.

Can I send the USDT from an exchange?

Yes — withdraw on the TRON (TRC-20) network to the deposit address, allowing for the exchange's withdrawal fee.

What is the minimum?

It is shown under the amount field. It follows the Bitcoin fee market and is higher on a congested day, because the payout has to pay a Bitcoin fee.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.
