# Swap USDC ERC-20 to SOL

Swap USDC on Ethereum for SOL without an account: enter the amount, paste a Solana address and send USDC from any Ethereum wallet.

- **Arrival:** ≈ 4–10 min

- **Confirmations:** 15 on Ethereum

- **Rate:** Floating

- **Fee token after arrival:** SOL

## When this route is the right one

You hold USDC as an ERC-20 token and want SOL — to use a Solana app, to fund a new Solana wallet, or to pay for something priced in SOL. USDC on Ethereum is issued by Circle; the contract this route expects is the one Circle lists for Ethereum mainnet (checked on 12 October 2026).

An ERC-20 transfer reaches only an Ethereum address, and Solana reads nothing from Ethereum. The USDC is received here and confirmed on Ethereum — 15 confirmations, about 4–10 minutes — then SOL is transferred to the Solana address you gave. The deposit is a token transfer, so your wallet pays its gas in ETH; the SOL arrives as the native coin, and the receiving wallet can transact immediately.

## USDC ERC-20 vs SOL — side by side

| | USDC on Ethereum ERC-20 | SOL on Solana |
|---|---|---|
| Address format | 0x… (42 characters) | base58, 32–44 characters |
| Fee token | ETH | SOL |
| Confirmations we wait for | 15 | 1 |
| Explorer | etherscan.io | solscan.io |

## What happens, in order

1. Enter the USDC amount and the Solana address Paste the base58 address (32–44 characters) that should receive SOL. The estimate is in SOL.
2. Send USDC to the deposit address You get a one-time 0x… address on Ethereum. Send USDC, the token, from any Ethereum wallet; the wallet needs ETH for the gas of that transfer.
3. Ethereum confirms 15 confirmations, about 4–10 minutes. The SOL amount is fixed then.
4. SOL is paid out on Solana The status page links the Solscan transaction that transfers SOL to your address.

## Before you send — checklist

- You send USDC on Ethereum mainnet — not USDC on Base, Arbitrum, Polygon or Solana itself. The deposit address exists on mainnet; a transfer on another 0x… network goes to the same string there and does not start the swap.
- There is enough ETH in the sending wallet for the gas of a token transfer.
- The receiving address is a Solana wallet address (base58), not a USDC token account on Solana.
- If the address belongs to an exchange, its deposit page is open for SOL on the Solana network.
- You saved the status link. It is the only place the swap is tracked.

## The two mistakes that cost money on this route

### USDC on the wrong 0x… network

Circle issues USDC on many chains, and several of them use 0x… addresses. A wallet tab set to Base or Arbitrum will happily send USDC to the deposit address on that chain, where the swap does not watch. Confirm that the wallet is on Ethereum mainnet and that the balance you are sending is the mainnet USDC.

### USDC in the wallet, no ETH

A token transfer is paid in ETH by the sender. A wallet that holds USDC and no ETH cannot send the deposit at all; the wallet will refuse to sign or the transaction will fail. Top up a little ETH first.

## Other ways to make the same move

| Way | What you need | Where it is slower or dearer |
|---|---|---|
| A bridge to Solana, then a DEX | A wallet on both chains, ETH for the bridge transaction, SOL on the Solana side to pay for the swap there | Several signatures, and the first Solana transaction needs the SOL you do not have yet |
| An exchange account | An account, an ERC-20 deposit, a trade, a SOL withdrawal | Two waits and a withdrawal fee |
| This swap | Two addresses | A floating rate fixed at the 15th Ethereum confirmation |

## What is visible on-chain

Etherscan shows a USDC token transfer from your wallet to the deposit address, under the token transfers tab, with the gas you paid and the block. Solscan shows a payout address transferring SOL to your address, with the amount and the slot. Both records are public and permanent; nothing on either chain refers to the other.

## FAQ

How long does it take?

About 4–10 minutes for the 15 Ethereum confirmations. Solana confirms the payout in seconds after that.

What is the minimum?

The form shows it under the amount field. It moves with the SOL price and the costs of the two networks.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.

Does the receiving wallet need SOL already?

No. A Solana account is created by the first payment that reaches it, as long as the balance covers the small minimum the network requires for an account of its size (solana.com docs, checked on 12 October 2026). The payout does that.

Do I pay gas?

Yes, once: the USDC deposit is an ERC-20 transfer, and your wallet pays its gas in ETH. No approval is needed — it is a plain transfer to the deposit address. The SOL payout costs you nothing.

Can I send USDC from an exchange?

Yes, withdrawing on the Ethereum (ERC-20) network to the deposit address. Exchanges deduct their withdrawal fee, so withdraw a little more than the figure on this page.
