# Swap POL to USDT TRC-20

Swap POL for USDT on TRON without an account: enter the amount, paste a T… address and send POL from any Polygon wallet.

- **Arrival:** ≈ 2–5 min

- **Confirmations:** 4 on Polygon

- **Rate:** Floating

- **Fee token after arrival:** TRX (or rented energy)

## When this route is the right one

You hold POL — the coin that pays gas on Polygon PoS, called MATIC until 4 September 2024 — and the dollars are needed on TRON, where most invoices and exchange deposit pages that say USDT show a T… address. Polygon confirms quickly, so the whole route takes about 2–5 minutes.

A Polygon transaction only reaches an address on Polygon, and a TRON wallet cannot receive it. The POL is received here and confirmed on Polygon — 4 confirmations — then USDT is transferred on TRON to the T… address you gave. The deposit must be the native coin on Polygon PoS. POL also exists as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum; that is a different balance, and it cannot reach a Polygon deposit address.

## POL vs USDT TRC-20 — side by side

| | POL on Polygon | USDT on TRON TRC-20 |
|---|---|---|
| Address format | 0x… (42 characters) | T… (34 characters) |
| Fee token | POL | TRX (or rented energy) |
| Confirmations we wait for | 4 | 1 |
| Explorer | polygonscan.com | tronscan.org |

## What happens, in order

1. Enter the POL amount and your TRON address Paste the T… address that should receive USDT. The estimate is in USDT.
2. Send POL to the deposit address You get a one-time 0x… address on Polygon PoS. Send the native coin from a wallet switched to the Polygon network, and leave a little POL behind for the gas of that transaction.
3. Polygon confirms 4 confirmations — about 2–5 minutes including processing. The USDT amount is fixed then.
4. USDT is paid out on TRON The status page links the Tronscan transaction that pays your T… address.

## Before you send — checklist

- The wallet you send from is on the Polygon network and the balance is POL, the native coin — not POL or MATIC on Ethereum, and not a bridged token.
- If the wallet still shows MATIC as the symbol of the native balance, it is the same coin: MATIC on Polygon PoS became POL one to one on 4 September 2024 (Polygon's announcement, checked on 12 October 2026). Updating the network's symbol in the wallet settings fixes the display.
- The receiving address is a TRON address: 34 characters, starting with T. An exchange page was opened for USDT on TRC-20.
- There is, or will be, a little TRX or energy on the receiving side for the day you move the USDT on.
- You saved the status link. It is the only place the swap is tracked.

## The two mistakes that cost money on this route

### Sending POL on Ethereum to the Polygon address

POL lives as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and as the native coin on Polygon PoS. The deposit address is on Polygon. A transfer of the Ethereum token lands at the same 0x… string on Ethereum, where the swap does not watch, and does not start anything. Check the network selector before you send.

### Sending the whole balance

A Polygon transfer costs gas in POL. If you set the amount to the full balance, the wallet either refuses or the transaction fails for lack of gas. Keep a little POL back; the form's amount is what should reach the deposit address.

## Other ways to make the same move

| Way | What you need | Where it is slower or dearer |
|---|---|---|
| An exchange account | An account, a POL deposit on the Polygon network, a sale, a TRC-20 withdrawal | Two waits and a withdrawal fee |
| A DEX on Polygon, then an exchange | A swap of POL to a stablecoin on Polygon, a deposit of it to an exchange, a withdrawal on TRON | Three steps, two fees and an account |
| This swap | Two addresses | A floating rate fixed at the fourth Polygon confirmation |

## What is visible on-chain

Polygonscan shows your wallet sending POL to the deposit address as a plain value transfer, with the amount, the gas and the block. Tronscan shows a payout address sending USDT to your T… address with the amount and the time. Both records are public and permanent; only the status link joins them.

## FAQ

How long does it take?

About 2–5 minutes. Polygon needs 4 confirmations at its 2-second block time; most of the wait is processing and the TRON payout.

What is the minimum?

The form shows it under the amount field. It moves with the TRON fee of the payout and the POL price.

What if the swap cannot be completed?

Write to support with the swap ID from the status page. The form has no refund address: a swap that cannot be completed is handled by hand, and a return to the address you sent from is arranged under the partner's rules, less the network fee.

Is POL the same as MATIC?

On Polygon PoS, yes: the native coin was upgraded and renamed one to one on 4 September 2024, balances were converted automatically, and some wallets still display the old symbol. On Ethereum the old MATIC token and the new POL token are separate contracts, and neither can be sent to a Polygon address directly.

Can I send POL from an exchange?

Yes, withdrawing on the Polygon network — some exchanges still label it Polygon PoS or MATIC network. Choose it rather than Ethereum. Exchanges deduct the withdrawal fee from the amount, so withdraw a little more than the figure on this page.

Do I need TRX to receive the USDT?

Not to receive — the sender pays the TRON fee. You need TRX, or rented energy, when you move the USDT on.
